Meet The Teachers
Alan Dodd
Alan’s passion towards exercise and wellbeing has been a real success story and here’s why…

Alan has always enjoyed being active and healthy, having run five full marathons over the last ten years, he also loves swimming and participating in the odd spinning class.

During Alan’s last marathon he experienced an injury at 7 miles and later realised he had a stress fracture below his knee, yes he still completed it… Crazy huh?! He also endured another fracture playing golf soon after and through several tests and hospital appointments was later diagnosed with osteoporosis.

Obviously gutted but not deterred, Alan was unhappy not knowing the reason why osteoporosis had occurred, he had always been conscious of staying fit and healthy so he decided to decline the traditional medication advised by the medical professionals (so much medication) and opted for a more holistic approach for recovery with a Functional Therapist. The Functional Therapist suggested changing his diet, taking supplements and vitamins and continuing to practising regular Pilates and Yoga to encourage bone growth in order to help reverse the Osteoporosis to Osteopenia. His bone scan has now proved just that…. With a good diet, exercise and some expert alternative holistic therapy including mindfulness you can be strong and healthy and continue to do the things you love and enjoy. Alan recently visited the consultant who has now suggested he continues with all he is doing (with no medication) as it’s clearly working and not to revisit him again for another 3 years.

Stress will always play a huge part in disease so Alan decided to continue his ongoing training and development in Sports and Exercise Psychology and Mindfulness Teacher Training. With regular Mindfulness practise and the combination of commitment, diet and Pilates and Yoga the results have been miraculous. The moral of the story is keep up keep up your Mindfulness and Movement practise.

Alan qualified as an Adult mindfulness teacher on the 10/06 2019 on the Mindfulness Now programme.
He also qualified at Westminster university as a mindfulness teacher on the youth mindfulness kids programme on the 09/08/2019 and the youth mindfulness S.O.M.A. programme on 16/12/2019
Alan is the founder of Mindfulness Prana and now Mind Awareness Project CIC M.A.P.

He first fell in love with meditation in 2010. This led him on a pathway to first of all learn and then teach all aspects of mindfulness. This really has transformed his wellbeing.
After many years practising with wise teachers and mentors, Alan has made it his mission to help others heal and cultivate their inner calm.

Toni Dodd
Toni has over 25 years experience in the health and wellness industry. Managed and taught in her own wellness studio.
Toni loves to share her passion of holistic therapies, Drum Sound Vibrational Healing, Sacred Circles, Cacao Ceremonies, Vibrational Plant Medicine, Mindfulness, Yoga, Reiki, and a Mentor for Alan’s Mindfulness Awareness Project and The Root Cause Practice Programme. An infusion of holistic modalities to facilitate anyone following a journey of self discovery and healing.

Toni enjoys a heart led life, balance and harmony between work and play and lifting the vibration of all those who embrace her spirit @findingyourmagic1.

She first began healing through Alanon (support for friends and family of alcoholics) and became a volunteer, first port of call on the Alanon help line. Having experienced several burnouts, menopausal problems, back pain and fatigue, exhausted and debilitated she was forced to stop! A wake up call to ask for help, pause, rest and evaluate. During such time Toni discovered her own needs of self care, self love and awareness through a range of ongoing education, courses, workshops and different holistic modalities. Experiencing much patience, tears and laughter she began to unveil her more true authentic self.
A two year journey began of devoting time and energy into self preservation, trusting this new self worth of rediscovery and grieving the old identity she had become so accustomed to. This new approach to teaching has been life changing. A much loved practise full of restoration, hope and opportunities.
“It’s shown me I am worthy and capable of anything I set my mind to. Enjoying almost everything I do and trusting and believing in me and my worth. Mindfulness has been a great asset and I love and enjoy assisting and facilitating Alan's Mindfulness Courses.”
